NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 22nd September, 2025
S.O. 4376(E)— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 and Section 5A
of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960 (59 of 1960), the Central Government hereby amends the
notification S.O. 2222(E) dated 15th May, 2023 published in Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II,
Section-3, Sub-section(ii) by the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying with immediate
effect from the date of publication, namely:-
(1) The Central Government hereby nominates Dr. Muthukumarasamy B., Joint Secretary, Department
of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying as
member of the Animal Welfare Board of India under Section 5(1)(h) of the said Act.

Note: The earlier notification regarding reconstitution of the Animal Welfare Board of India was published
in the Gazette of India vide number S.O. 2222(E) dated 15th May, 2023 and subsequently amended vide
No. S.O. 2353(E) dated 22nd May, 2023, No. S.O. 3911(E) dated 01st September, 2023 and No. S.O. 1817
dated 19th September, 2024.
NOTIFICATION

S.O. 4377(E)— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 and Section 5A
of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960 (59 of 1960), the Central Government hereby amends the
notification S.O. 2222(E) dated 15th May, 2023 published in Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II,
Section-3, Sub-section(ii) by the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying with immediate
effect from the date of publication, namely:-
(1) The Central Government hereby removes Shri Rakesh Gupta, Chairman, Gopal Gausadan, New
Delhi, Member of the Animal Welfare Board of India under Section 5(1)(g) of the said Act, under
the provisions of Rule 6 of the Animal Welfare Board (Administration) Rules, 1962, from his
present position.
