By S.O. 2499(E) dated 26th June 2024, the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board), exercising powers under sub-section (1) and in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989), declared final acquisition of land specified in the schedule for the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor Special Railway Project in Mirzapur district, Uttar Pradesh, following the earlier declaration of intent vide S.O. 3949(E) dated 4th September 2023 (published 5th September 2023) under section 20A, public notice via the newspapers "Hindustan" and "Amar Ujala" dated 11th October 2023 under sub-section (4) of section 20A, receipt of no public objections, and submission of the competent authority's report under section 20E(1); the notification vests the specified lands absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances upon publication, with the schedule listing individual plot numbers, land nature/type, area, and named owners in Tehsil Sadar (village Trilokpur) and Tehsil Chunar (village Bhormarmafi), including plots such as 103M, 104M, 142M, 143M, 143/298, 148-155, 162-165, 168-169, 178, and 201Ka/201Kha; issued under file number 2024/LML-II/12/2/EC/2472.

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 26th June, 2024

S.O. 2499(E).—WHEREAS by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Railways
(Railway Board), vide number S.O.3949 (E), dated the 4th September, 2023, published in the Gazette of India,
Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), dated the 5th September, 2023, (hereinafter referred to as the
said notification) and issued under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989)
(hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intention to acquire the land
specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for the purpose of execution of Special Railway
Project, namely, Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor in the District of Mirzapur in the State of Uttar Pradesh;

AND WHEREAS, the substance of the said notification was published in daily newspapers namely
"Hindustan" and "Amar Ujala”, dated the 11th October, 2023, under sub-section (4) of section 20A of the said
Act;

AND WHEREAS, no objections were received from the public in respect of the said notification within
the specified period;

AND WHEREAS, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the competent
authority has submitted its report to the Central Government;

NOW THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1), and in pursuance of sub-
section (2), of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government,-

(i) upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority, hereby declares that the lands
    specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose; and

(ii) hereby declares that on publication of this notification, the lands specified in the Schedule
    annexed hereto shall vest absolutely upon it free from all encumbrances.
