The established Regional Directors are tasked with discharging functions conferred upon them by the Companies Act, 2013, or delegated by the Central Government, across specific jurisdictions. These include: Northern Region Directorate I (New Delhi) for Uttar Pradesh and National Capital Territory of Delhi; Northern Region Directorate II (Chandigarh) for Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir; North-Western Region Directorate (Ahmedabad) for Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli; Western Region Directorate I (Mumbai) for Goa, Daman and Diu, and districts of Mumbai and Mumbai Suburban; Western Region Directorate II (Navi Mumbai) for all other districts of Maharashtra; Southern Region Directorate (Chennai) for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands; South-Western Region Directorate (Bangalore) for Karnataka, Kerala, and Lakshadweep; Eastern Region Directorate (Kolkata) for West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand; Northeastern Region Directorate (Guwahati) for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura; and Southeastern Region Directorate (Hyderabad) for Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Telangana. Furthermore, these Regional Directors will continue to exercise functions conferred or delegated under the Companies Act, 1956, for provisions still in force. This notification shall come into force with effect from 1st January, 2026.
