This action is taken in exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 read with Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, and paragraphs 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023. The corrigendum amends the Import Policy Condition for ITC(HS) codes 71104100 and 71104900. Previously, the import of "Iridium alloy consisting of gold more than 1 percent (1%) by weight" was restricted. The revised condition now restricts the import of "Iridium alloy, osmium alloy and ruthenium alloy consisting of gold more than 1 percent (1%) by weight." This amendment broadens the scope of restricted alloys to include osmium and ruthenium alloys, in addition to iridium alloys, when they contain more than 1 percent gold by weight.
