This notification, S.O. 3351(E) dated 22nd June, 2026, issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Department of Commerce), pertains to the de-notification of a portion of a Sector Specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for Information Technology/Information Technology Enabled Services. M/s Ganesh Housing Corporation Limited had initially proposed and established this SEZ at Village Tragad and Chharodi, Taluka Dascroi, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005). Previously, the Central Government had notified an area of 10.5623 hectares and an increase of 22.15 hectares for this SEZ via notifications S.O. 1011(E) dated 22nd June, 2007, and S.O. 1577(E) dated 19th September, 2007, exercising powers under sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006. M/s. Ganesh Housing Corporation Limited subsequently proposed the de-notification of 6.7919 hectares. This proposal received approval from the State Government of Gujarat vide letter no. IC/INFRA/SEZ/NOC/7528148 dated 26th November, 2025, and was recommended by the Development Commissioner, Kandla SEZ, who also requested re-notification of the entire 25.9163 hectares based on revised plot numbering from the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority. The Board of Approval for Special Economic Zones further recommended issuing a fresh notification with revised plot numbers superseding earlier ones. Consequently, the Central Government, satisfied that requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the Act are fulfilled, and exercising powers conferred by the second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, hereby de-notifies 6.7919 hectares. This action results in a total notified area of 25.9163 hectares, with specific plot numbers detailed for Town Planning Scheme No. 64(TRAGAD) (9.9503 hectares) and 36 (CHHARODI-TRAGOD) (15.9660 hectares).

IC/INFRA/SEZ/NOC/7528148 dated 26th November, 2025; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, Kandla SEZ has recommended the proposal for decrease in area of 6.7919 hectare at the Special Economic Zone and requested for re-notification of the entire 25.9163 hectares based on the revised plot numbering issued by Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority; AND, WHEREAS, the Board of Approval for Special Economic Zones recommended for issuance of fresh notification with revised plot number superseding the earlier notifications; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the Central Government in supersession of previous notifications hereby de-notifies an area of 6.7919 hectare at above special economic zone, thereby making the resultant notified area as 25.9163 hectares.
