These rules, made by the Central Government under clauses (d) and (e) of sub-section (2) of section 24 of the Coinage Act, 2011 (11 of 2011), establish the specifications for a commemorative Fifty Rupees coin. The coin, to be issued on the occasion of the Golden Year Celebration of the Official Language Department, will be circular with an outside diameter of 44 millimeters and 200 serrations. Its composition will be Pure Silver, with 99.9 percent silver content. The standard weight is 40 Grams, with a remedy allowed for silver content of 999 parts per 1000 (tolerance 999 and above) and a weight tolerance of 1/8000th, meaning the weight can range from 39.995 grams to 40.005 grams. The design, detailed in the First Schedule, includes the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar, "INDIA", the Rupee symbol, and "50" on the obverse. The reverse features a lotus design with the numeral "50", the inscription "GOLDEN YEAR CELEBRATION OF OFFICIAL LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT" in English, and the year "2025". The rules come into force on their publication date in the Official Gazette.

Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Coinage (Issue of Commemorative Coin to commemorate the occasion of Golden Year Celebration of Official Language Department) Rules, 2025. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Denomination of coin.- The coin of Fifty Rupees denomination shall be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of the Central Government on the occasion of Golden Year Celebration of Official Language Department. 3. Design.- The design of the coin shall be as specified in the First Schedule annexed to these rules. 5. Standard weight and remedy allowed.- The standard weight of the coin of denomination referred in rule 2 to commemorate the occasion of Golden Year Celebration of Official Language Department and the remedy allowed in making of such coin shall be as specified in the Second Schedule annexed to these rules. THE FIRST SCHEDULE [See rule 4] FIFTY RUPEES OBVERSE: This face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with the legend “सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word "भारत" in Devnagari script and on the right periphery with the word "INDIA" in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol "*" and denominational value "50" in the international numerals below the Lion Capitol. REVERSE: This face of the coin shall bear the lotus patterned design showing Hindi alphabet on petal of lotus. A circle having the numeral "50" is shown in the center of the coin as well as lotus pattern. The inscription "राजभाषा विभाग का स्वर्णिम वर्ष समारोह" shall be written in Devanagari script on the upper periphery of the coin and the inscription “GOLDEN YEAR CELEBRATION OF OFFICIAL LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT” in English shall be depicted on the lower periphery of the coin. The year “2025” shall be written in international numeral on the upper side of the design.
