The coin will be circular, 44 millimeters in diameter, with 200 serrations, and composed of Pure Silver (99.9 per cent silver). Its design, specified in the First Schedule (see rule 4), features the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar, "INDIA" in English, the Rupee symbol "₹", and the denominational value "1000" on the obverse. The reverse depicts the image of the Naval Expedition of Emperor Rajendra Chola -I with the inscription “1000 YEARS OF NAVAL EXPEDITION OF EMPEROR RAJENDRA CHOLA - I” in English and the year "2025". The standard weight, as per the Second Schedule (see rule 5), is 40 Grams. The remedy allowed for composition is 999 parts of silver per 1000, with a tolerance for silver content of 999 and above. The remedy allowed for standard weight is 1/8000th plus or minus, meaning the weight can range from 39.995 grams to 40.005 grams.

Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Coinage (Issue of Commemorative Coin on the occasion of 1000 Years of Naval Expedition of Emperor Rajendra Chola - I) Rules, 2025. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Denomination of coin.- The coin of One Thousand Rupees denomination shall only be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of the Central Government on the occasion of 1000 Years of Naval Expedition of Emperor Rajendra Chola – I 3. Design.- The design of the coin shall be as specified in the First Schedule annexed to these rules. 5. Standard weight and remedy allowed.- The standard weight of the coin of denomination referred in rule 2 to commemorate the occasion of 1000 Years of Naval Expedition of Emperor Rajendra Chola - I and the remedy allowed in making of such coin shall be as specified in the Second Schedule annexed to these rules. THE FIRST SCHEDULE [See rule 4] ONE THOUSAND RUPEES OBVERSE: This face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word “भारत” in Devnagari script and on the right periphery with the word "INDIA" in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol "₹" and denominational value “1000” in the international numerals below the Lion Capitol. REVERSE: This face of the coin shall bear the image of Naval Expedition of Emperor Rajendra Chola -I. The inscription "सम्राट राजेन्द्र चोल - । के नौसैनिक अभियान के 1000 वर्ष” shall be written in Devanagari script on the upper periphery of the coin and the inscription “1000 YEARS OF NAVAL EXPEDITION OF EMPEROR RAJENDRA CHOLA - I” in English shall be depicted on the lower periphery of the coin. The year "2025" shall be written on the upper side of the image in international numbers.
