S.O. 1773(E), Notification No. 08/2023, dated 23rd April 2024, issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department of Commerce, Directorate General of Foreign Trade, under section 3 read with section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992), and Paragraphs 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, addresses streamlining of the Halal Certification Process for Meat and Meat Products. In partial modification of Notification No. 03/2023 dated 6th April 2023, read with Notification No. 41/2023 dated 27th October 2023, it extends the time period for both accreditation of Halal Certification Bodies and registration of export units by a further three months, i.e., up to 4th July 2024.
