The Central Government, through Notification S.O. 4283(E) dated 18th September, 2025, has designated the Deputy Secretary/Director, IT Cell, within the Ministry of Labour and Employment as the Nodal Officer. This designation is made in pursuance of clause (b) of sub-section (3) of section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 (21 of 2000), read with clause (d) of sub-rule (1) of rule 3 of the Information Technology (Guidelines for Intermediaries and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. The Nodal Officer's responsibilities include addressing matters concerning misinformation or misleading data about the Ministry and its schemes/initiatives, combating fake websites and URLs falsely claiming affiliation, preventing impersonation of the Ministry including fraudulent job offers, and stopping unauthorized use of the Ministry's name, logo, or digital content. The designated officer must be of a rank not below that of Deputy Secretary.
