The committee is chaired by Shri Narendra Modi, the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, and comprises 117 other members including former Presidents of India, the Hon'ble Speaker of Lok Sabha, Members of Parliament, various Union Ministers, Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Governors and Chief Ministers of numerous Indian states, former Vice President, former Deputy Prime Minister, key Secretaries to the Government of India, former judicial and constitutional functionaries, social activists, academics, sportspersons, spiritual leaders, and industrialists. The mandate of this National Level Committee is to approve policies, plans, programmes, supervise, and guide the commemoration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Birsa Munda, including preparatory activities, and to decide on broad dates for the detailed programme of celebration. The committee's recommendations will be considered by the Government for implementation, subject to existing rules, instructions, and practices.
