Detailed Summary

S.O. 2759(E) dated 23rd June 2023, issued by the Ministry of Labour and Employment under sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), extends the declaration that services in Bank Note Paper Mill India Private Limited, Mysore, Karnataka (covered under item 32 of the First Schedule to the Act) constitute a public utility service, for a further period of six months with effect from 19th August 2023. The notification recites that the industry was previously so declared for six months from 19th February 2023 vide S.O. 733(E) dated 17th February 2023. 3992 GI/202 3 (1) EXTRAORDINARY PART II —Section 3 —Sub-section ( ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 2639] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, JUNE 23, 2023/ASHADHA 2, 194 5 CG-DL-E-23062023-246783 MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT NOTIFICATION New Delhi the 2 3rd June, 2023 S.O. 2759 (E).—Whereas the Central Government is satisfied that the public interest so requires that the services in the Bank Note Paper Mill India Private Limited, Mysore, Karnataka, which is covered under item 32 of the First Schedule to th e Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act; And whereas the Central Government has lastly declared the said industry to be public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months with effect from the 19th February, 2023 vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Labour and Employment number S.O. 733(E), dated the 17th February , 2023; And whereas the Central Government is of the opinion that public interest requires the extension of the public utility service status to the said industry for a further period of six months; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), the Central Government hereby declares the services of the said industry to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a further period of s ix months with effect from the 19th August, 2023.
