Issued by the Ministry of Labour and Employment (S.O. 2760(E), dated 23 June 2023), this notification, made under the proviso to sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), extends for a further period of six months, effective from 30 July 2023, the declaration that services engaged in six industrial undertakings under the Ministry of Finance - (a) India Government Mints at Kolkata, Noida, Mumbai and Hyderabad; (b) India Security Press, Nashik; (c) Security Printing Press, Hyderabad; (d) Security Paper Mill, Hoshangabad; (e) the Bank Note Press, Dewas; and (f) the Currency Note Press, Nashik Road - covered respectively under items 11, 12 [(b) and (c)], 21, 22 and 25 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, constitute public utility service for purposes of that Act; it recites that the Central Government had last so declared these undertakings for six months effective 30 January 2023 vide notification S.O. 735(E) dated 17 February 2023, and, being satisfied that public interest requires continued extension, exercises this power again; the notification is signed by Deepika Kachhal, Joint Secretary, under file number S-11017/4/2011-IR(PL).

3993 GI/202 3 (1) EXTRAORDINARY PART II —Section 3 —Sub-section ( ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 2640] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, JUNE 23, 2023/ASHADHA 2, 194 5 CG-DL-E-23062023-246775 MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT NOTIFICATION New Delhi the 23 rd June, 2023 S.O. 2760(E).—Whereas the Central Government is satisfied that public interest so requires that the services engaged in the following industrial undertakings und er the Ministry of Finance namely, the – (a) India Government Mints, Kolkata, Noida, Mumbai and Hyderabad; (b) India Security Press, Nashik; (c) Security Printing Press, Hyderabad; (d) Security Paper Mill, Hoshangabad; (e) Services in the Bank Note Press, Dewas; and (f) Currency Note Press, Nashik Road, which are respectively covered under items 11, 12 [both (b) and (c)], 21, 22, and 25 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), to be public utility service for the purpose of the said Act: And wherea s the Central Government has lastly declared the said industrial undertaking to be public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months with effect from the 30th January, 2023, vide notification of the Government of India in t he Ministry of Labour and Employment number S.O. 735(E), dated 17 February, 2023; And whereas the Central Government is of the opinion that public interest requires the extension of the public utility service status to the said industrial undertakings fo r a further period of six months; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub -clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), the Central Government hereby declares the services engage d in the said industrial undertakings to be public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a further period of six months with effect from the 30th July, 2023.
