The Ministry of Finance (Department of Economic Affairs), under the powers conferred by clauses (d) and (e) of sub-section (2) of section 24 of the Coinage Act, 2011 (11 of 2011), has issued the Coinage (Issue of Commemorative Coin to commemorate on the occasion of 300th Birth Anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar) Rules, 2025. These rules, published vide G.S.R. 336(E) in the Gazette of India Extraordinary dated May 23, 2025 (dated New Delhi, the 22nd May, 2025), come into force on the date of their publication. The rules specify that a commemorative coin of Three Hundred Rupees denomination shall be coined at the Mint for issue on the occasion of the 300th Birth Anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar. The coin is circular with a 44 millimeter diameter and 200 serrations. Its metal composition is a Quaternary Alloy consisting of Silver (50%), Copper (40%), Nickel (05%), and Zinc (05%). The design is detailed in the First Schedule, featuring the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar on the obverse with the Rupee symbol and '300', flanked by 'INDIA' in English, and the image of Ahilyabai Holkar on the reverse with the inscription '300TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF AHILYABAI HOLKAR' in English on the lower periphery, along with the years '1725' and '2025'. The standard weight is 35 Grams, and the remedy allowed in making the coin is specified in the Second Schedule, permitting a composition variation of 1/500th plus or minus for Silver content (498 to 502 per 1000) and a standard weight variation of 1/100th plus or minus (34.65 grams to 35.35 grams). Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Coinage (Issue of Commemorative Coin to commemorate on the occasion of 300th Birth Anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar) Rules, 2025. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Denomination of coin.- The coin of Three Hundred Rupees denomination shall only be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of the Central Government on the occasion of 300th Birth Anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar. 3. Design.- The design of the coin shall be as specified in the First Schedule annexed to these rules. 5. Standard weight and remedy allowed.- The standard weight of the coin of denomination referred in rule 2 shall be coined to commemorate on the occasion of 300th Birth Anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar and the remedy allowed in making of such coin shall be as specified in the Second Schedule to these rules. THE FIRST SCHEDULE [ See rule 4] THREE HUNDRED RUPEES OBVERSE: This face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word "भारत" in Devnagari script and on the right periphery with the word “INDIA” in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol "" and denominational value "300" in the international numerals below the Lion Capitol. REVERSE: This face of coin shall bear the image of Ahilyabai Holkar in the centre of the coin. The year '1725' in international numerals shall be inscribed on the left side of the image, and the year ‘2025' shall be inscribed on the right side. The inscription "अहिल्याबाई होलकर की 300वीं जयंती" shall be written in Devnagari script on the upper periphery and the inscription “300TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF AHILYABAI HOLKAR” shall be inscribed in English on the lower periphery of the coin.
