In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1971 (40 of 1971), the Central Government hereby appoints the officer mentioned in column (1) of the Table below, being an officer equivalent to the rank of Gazetted officer of the Government of India, to be the estate officer for the purposes of the said Act, who shall exercise the powers conferred, and perform the duties imposed on the estate officer by or under the said Act within the local limits of the jurisdiction in respect of the public premises specified in column (2) of the said Table.
