Regulation 68(1) is substituted to describe flying of flags or masthead pendants by Flag Officers, Commodores, and commanding officers in boats to indicate the presence of senior officers; regulation 68(5) is substituted regarding use of a red indicator plate of approximately 10 inches diameter for ceremonial signalling; sub-regulation 68(6) is omitted; and regulation 89(3)'s reference to 'showing a Red or Blue disc as appropriate' is omitted. L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-22052024-254308 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 4 PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 15] NEW DELHI, WEDNESDAY, MAY 22, 2024/JYAISHTHA 1, 1946 MINISTRY OF DEFENCE NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 17th May, 2024 S.R.O 15(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 184 of the Navy Act, 1957 (62 of 1957), the Central Government hereby makes the following regulations further to amend the Naval Ceremonial, Conditions of Service and Miscellaneous Regulations, 1963, namely:- 1. (1) These regulations may be called the Naval Ceremonial, Conditions of Service and Miscellaneous (Amendment) Regulations, 2024. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Naval Ceremonial, Conditions of Service and Miscellaneous Regulations, 1963, (a) in regulation 7, in the marginal heading, for the word "Jackstaff", the words "National Flag Staff" shall be substituted; (b) in regulation 7, in sub-regulation (1), for the word "Jackstaff", the words "National Flag Staff" shall be substituted; (c) in regulation 44, in sub-regulation (2), for the word "Jackstaff", the words "National Flag Staff" shall be substituted; (d) in section X, in the heading, for the word “JACK”, the words “NATIONAL FLAG" shall be substituted; (e) in regulation 66, in sub-regulation (1), in clause (b), for the word "Jackstaff" occurring at both places, the words "National Flag Staff" shall be substituted; (f) in regulation 68, for sub-regulation (1), the following sub-regulation shall be substituted, namely:- "(1) Flag Officers and Commodores entitled to fly their flag in a ship or shore establishment, and other officers holding an appointment in command of a ship in commission or shore establishment or sea- going tender to one of Indian Naval Ships, when proceeding on duty in a boat, may fly in the bows, the flag or masthead pendant applicable to their rank, to indicate the presence of senior officers in the boat so that it may be accorded the courtesies due to their rank and office."; (g) in regulation 68, for sub-regulation (5), the following sub-regulation shall be substituted, namely:- "(5) A red indicator plate of approximately 10 inches diameter shall be used in boats by the Senior Naval Officers on formal occasions when the full ceremonials prescribed in regulations 82 to 84 are not required; and when the red disc is displayed, the bugle or still pipe will be sounded and a salute is to be accorded."; (h) sub-regulation 6 of the regulation 68 shall be omitted; (i) in regulation 71, for the word "Jackstaff", the words "National Flag Staff" shall be substituted; (j) in regulation 73, in sub-regulation (1), for the word "jack" occurring at both places, the words “National Flag" shall be substituted; (k) in regulation 89, in sub-regulation (3), the words "showing a Red or Blue disc as appropriate" shall be omitted.
