Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Labour and Employment, through Notification S.O. 5319(E) dated November 21, 2025, announced that the Central Government, exercising powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Code on Social Security, 2020 (36 of 2020), has appointed November 21, 2025, as the effective date for several provisions of the said Code. These provisions include sections 1 to 14, sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 15, clause (c) of sub-section (1) of section 16, sections 17 to 141, and sections 144 to 163. Additionally, section 143 will come into force, except for the provisions specified at serial number (v) of S.O. 2060 (E), dated May 3, 2023. Furthermore, items 1 and 2 and items 4 to 9 of sub-section (1) of section 164, along with clause (a) and clause (c) of sub-section (2) and sub-section (3) of section 164, are also being brought into force on this date.
