The Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs, by G.S.R. 855(E) dated 21st November 2023, in exercise of powers under clauses (d) and (e) of sub-section (2) of section 24 of the Coinage Act, 2011 (11 of 2011), makes the Coinage (Issue of Commemorative Coin to commemorate the occasion of 525th Birth Anniversary of Saint Meera Bai) Rules, 2023, effective from the date of publication; a coin of Rs. 525 denomination shall be coined at the Mint, circular in shape with 44 millimeter outside diameter and 200 serrations, composed of Quaternary Alloy (50 per cent Silver, 40 per cent Copper, 5 per cent Nickel and 5 per cent Zinc); the design is specified in the First Schedule (obverse bearing the Lion Capitol of Ashoka with “Satyameva Jayate”, “Bharat” in Devanagari, “INDIA” in English, the Rupee symbol and value ‘525’; reverse bearing the image of Saint Meera Bai with Devanagari and English inscriptions and the years 1498 and 2023); the standard weight is 35 grams with a remedy of 1/500th for Silver composition (498-502 per 1000) and 1/100th for standard weight (34.65 to 35.35 grams) as specified in the Second Schedule; the notification bears F. No. 02/38/2023-Coin and is signed by Aparna Bhatia, Adviser.

Short title and commencement. - (1) These rules may be called the Coinage (Issue of Commemorative Coin to commemorate on the occasion of 525th Birth Anniversary of Saint Meera Bai ) Rules, 2023. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Denomination of coin. - The coin of five hundred and twenty five rupees denomination shall be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of the Central Government on the occasion of 525th Birth Anniversary of Saint Meera Bai . 3. Dimension and composition of coin. - The coin of the above denomination mentioned in rule 2 shall conform to the following dimensions and composition, namely: - Denomination of coin Shape and outside diameter Number o f serrations Metal composition (1) (2) (3) (4) Five Hundred and Twenty Five Rupees Circular 44 millimeter 200 Quaternary Alloy Silver - 50 per cent. Copper - 40 per cent. Nickel - 05 per cent. Zinc - 05 per cent. 4. Design .- The design of the coin shall be as specified in the First Schedule to these rules. 5. Standard weight and remedy allowed. - The standard weight of the coin of the denomination referred in rule 2 shall be coined to commemorate the occasion of 525th Birth Anniversary of Saint Meera Bai and the remedy allowed in making of such coin shall be as specified in the Second Schedule to these rules. THE FIRST SCHEDULE (See rule 4) FIVE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE RUPEES OBVERSE: This face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with the legend “सत्यमेि ियते” inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word “भारत” in Devnagri script and on the right periphery with the word ― INDIA ‖ in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol ― ₹‖ and denominational value ― 525‖ in the international numerals below the Lion Capitol. REVERSE: This face of coin shall bear the image of Saint Meera Bai in the centre of the coin. The inscription ― संत मीरा बाई की 525िीं ियंती ” shall be written in Devnagari script on the upper periphery and the inscription 525TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF SAINT MEERA BAI in English is depicted on the lower periphery of the coin. The year ―1498‖ on left side and the year ―2023‖ on right side of the coin shall be written in international numeral. THE SECOND SCHEDULE (See rule 5) Denomination of coin Standard weight Remedy allowed In composition In standard weight (1) (2) (3) (4) Five Hundred and Twenty Five Rupees 35 Grams 1/500th plus or minus for Silver, that is to say the Silver content may vary from 498 to 502 per 1000. 1/100th plus or minus, that is to say the weight could be 34.65 grams to 35.35 grams.
