In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000 (21 of 2000) read with rule 3 of the Information Technology (Procedure and Safeguards for Blocking for Access of Information by Public) Rules, 2009, the Central Government authorizes Shri Ajit Kumar, IAS(KL:2006), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, as the primary Designated Officer. Shri Sushil Pal, ICAS(1999), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, is designated to serve as the Designated Officer during the absence of Shri Ajit Kumar. This notification supersedes the Ministry's previous Notification No. 2(1)/2017-Pers.I (Pt.) dated 7th May 2025, which was published in the Gazette of India vide S.O. 2056(E) on 8th May 2025.
