8240 GI/202 4 (1) EXTRAORDINARY PART II —Section 3 —Sub-section ( ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 5099 ] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY , DEC EMBER 20, 2024 /AGRAHAYANA 29, 194 6 CG-DL-E-20122024-259561 MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 20th December , 2024 S.O. 5514 (E).—WHEREAS the Central Government is satisfied that the public interest so requires that the services engaged in the Uranium industry, which are covered under item 19 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act; AND WHEREAS, the Central Government has declared the said industry to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months from the 7th May, 2024 vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Labour and Employment number S.O. 1937(E), dated the 7th May, 2024; AND WHEREAS, the said declaration could not be extended at any one time; AND WHEREAS, the Central Government is of the opinion that public interest requires the said industry is declared as public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months; NOW, THEREFORE , in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub -clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), the Central Government being satisfied that public interest so requires, hereby declares the services engaged in the Uranium Industry to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months from the date of publication o f this notification in the Official Gazette.
