This notification designates various Deputy Directors General of Mines Safety as officers for the composition of offences in mines within their specified jurisdictions. Eight zones are established: Central Zone (Bihar, part of Jharkhand, HQ Dhanbad), Eastern Zone (West Bengal, Assam, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, HQ Sitarampur), South Eastern Zone (Odisha, part of Jharkhand, HQ Ranchi), South Central Zone (Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, HQ Hyderabad), Southern Zone (Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep Islands, Puducherry, HQ Bengaluru), Western Zone (Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Goa, HQ Nagpur), North Western Zone (Gujarat, Rajasthan, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Diu, HQ Udaipur), and Northern Zone (Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, HQ Ghaziabad).
