Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Labour and Employment, through Notification S.O. 4744(E) issued on October 17, 2025, has exercised the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948 (34 of 1948). The Central Government hereby appoints the 1st day of November, 2025, as the date on which the following provisions of the said Act shall come into force: sections 38 to 43; sections 45A to 45H; sections 46 to 75; sub-sections (2) to (4) of section 76; and sections 82 and 83. These provisions will be effective throughout the entire area of the West Garo Hills, South Garo Hills, North Garo Hills, East Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills, and West Jaintia Hills districts in the State of Meghalaya.
