The Ministry of Finance (Department of Economic Affairs) issued G.S.R. 578(E) dated 18th September 2024, under clauses (d) and (e) of sub-section (2) of Section 24 of the Coinage Act, 2011 (11 of 2011), making the Coinage (Issue of Commemorative Coin on the occasion of 75th Foundation Year of Central Silk Board) Rules, 2024, effective from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. The Rules provide for coining a Seventy Five Rupees denomination commemorative coin at the Mint under the authority of the Central Government; specify the coin as circular, 44 millimeter outside diameter, with 200 serrations, composed of a quaternary alloy of 50 per cent silver, 40 per cent copper, 5 per cent nickel and 5 per cent zinc; prescribe a standard weight of 35 grams with remedy allowances of 1/500th plus or minus in silver composition (498 to 502 per 1000) and 1/100th plus or minus in standard weight (34.65 to 35.35 grams); and specify the design in the First Schedule -- the obverse bearing the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar with the legend "Satyameva Jayate", "Bharat" in Devanagari script and "INDIA" in English, plus the Rupee symbol and the denominational value "75"; the reverse bearing the Central Silk Board's 75th Foundation Year logo with "Kendriya Resham Board" in Devanagari script and "CENTRAL SILK BOARD" in English, and the years "1949-2024". Short title and commencement . - (1) These rules may be c alled the Coinage (Issue of Commemorative Coin on the occasion of 75th Foundation Year of Central Silk Board ) Rules, 2024 . (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Denomination of coin. - The coin of Seventy Five Rupees denomination shall only be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of the Cen tral Government on the occasion of 75th Foundation Year of Central Silk Board . 3. Dimension and composition of coin. - The denomination of the coin mentioned in rule 2 shall conform to the following dimensions and composition, namely: - Denomination of the coin Shape and outside diameter Number of serrations Metal composition (1) (2) (3) (4) Seventy Five Rupees Circular 44 millimeter 200 Quaternary Alloy Silver - 50 per cent. Copper - 40 per cent. Nickel - 05 per cent. Zinc - 05 per cent. 4. Design .- The design of the coin shall be as specified in the First Schedule to these rules. 5. Standard weight and remedy allowed .- The standard weight of the coin of above denomination referred in rule 2 shall be coined to commemorate on the occasion of 75th Foundation Year of Central Silk Board and the remedy allowed in making of such coin shall be as specified in the Second Schedule to these rules. THE FIRST SCHEDULE [See rule 4] SEVENTY FIVE RUPEES OBVERSE: This face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with the legend “सत्यमेव जयते ” inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word “भारत ” in Dev anagari script and on the right periphery with the word “ INDIA ” in English. It sh all also bear the Rupee symbol “ ₹” and denominational value “ 75” in the international numerals below the Lion Capitol. REVERSE: This face of the coin shall bear the logo of 75th Foundation Year of Central Silk Board in the centre of the coin . On the upper periphery of coin, t he inscription “क े न्द्रीय रेशम बोर्ड” in Devanagari script shall be written on the left side and “CENTRAL SILK BOARD” in English shall be written on the right side of the coin. The year “ 1949 -2024 ” in international numbers shall be written below the l ogo on the lower periphery of the coin. THE SECOND SCHEDULE [See rule 5] Denomination of the coin Standard weight Remedy allowed In composition In standard weight (1) (2) (3) (4) Seventy Five Rupees 35 Grams 1/500th plus or minus for Silver, that is to say the Silver content may vary from 498 to 502 per 1000. 1/100th plus or minus, that is to say weight could be 34.65 grams to 35.35 grams.
