The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, vide S.O. 849(E) issued from New Delhi on 13th February, 2026, has notified the appointment of Shri Deep Chandra Joshi, who is a Member (Judicial) and the senior-most Member in the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), to act as its President. This appointment comes into effect following the completion of the term of Office of Justice (Retired) Ramalingam Sudhakar as President, NCLT, on 13th February, 2026. Shri Joshi will serve as the acting President in terms of Section 415(1) of the Companies Act, 2013 (18 of 2013), for the period from 14th February, 2026, to 16th March, 2026, or until a regular President is appointed, or until further orders, whichever occurs earliest.
