The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, through the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, issued Notification No. 47/2025-Customs (N.T.) on 16th July, 2025. In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4, read with section 3 and sub-sections (1) and (1A) of section 5 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Board has appointed the Principal Commissioner/Commissioner of Customs, Import Commissionerate (Chennai - II) as the Common Adjudicating Authority. This authority is tasked with exercising the powers and discharging duties previously conferred or imposed on the Deputy Commissioner, Group 1-4, DC/AC-III-O/o Pr. Commissioner-Customs- ACC-Chennai, and the Assistant Commissioner, Group 2, DC/AC-X-0/0 Commissioner-Customs-Import-Chennai. The appointment is for the adjudication of show cause notices 28/2023 dated 27.02.2023 and 72/2024 dated 31.05.2024, issued to M/s. Ammega Belting India Pvt. Ltd. (earlier known as M/s Helicord Transmissions Pvt Ltd), located at 25A/1/3&4, SIDCO Industrial Estate, Ambattur, Chennai - 600 098, Tamil Nadu, with IEC No. 0410032417 and PAN AACCH4757L.
