The Ministry of Labour and Employment, through Notification S.O. 5795(E) dated 12th December, 2025, issued from New Delhi, declares the services of the industry engaged in industrial establishments manufacturing or producing Nuclear Fuel and components, Heavy Water and Allied Chemicals, and Atomic Energy to be a public utility service. This declaration, made in the public interest, extends the public utility service status for a further period of six months, effective from 28th December, 2025. This action is taken in exercise of powers conferred by the proviso to sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947). The Central Government had previously declared this industry a public utility service for six months from 28th June, 2025, via Notification S.O. 2717(E), dated 17th June, 2025. The industry's services are covered under item 28 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.

L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-15122025-268517 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 5600] NEW DELHI, MONDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2025/AGRAHAYANA 24, 1947 MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 12th December, 2025 S.O. 5795(E). - Whereas the Central Government is satisfied that the public interest so requires that the services of the Industry engaged in the Industrial establishments manufacturing or producing Nuclear Fuel and components, Heavy Water and Allied Chemicals and Atomic Energy, which are covered under item 28 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act; And whereas, the Central Government has declared the said industry to be public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months with effect from the 28th June, 2025, vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Labour and Employment number S.O. 2717(E), dated the 17th June, 2025; And whereas, the Central Government is of the opinion that the public interest requires the extension of the public utility service status to the said industry for a further period of six months. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), the Central Government hereby declares the services of the industry engaged in the Industrial establishments manufacturing or producing Nuclear Fuel and components, Heavy Water and Allied Chemicals and Atomic Energy to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a further period of six months with effect from the 28th December, 2025.
