By S.O. 2168(E) dated 15th May, 2025, the Central Government, in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 8 of the Recovery of Debts and Bankruptcy Act, 1993 (51 of 1993), authorizes the Chairperson of the Debts Recovery Appellate Tribunal, Chennai. This authorization is to discharge the functions of the Chairperson of the Debts Recovery Appellate Tribunal, Delhi, specifically for deciding the appeal in the matter of 'Ashok Kumar vs Canara Bank and Anr.' (Appeal No. 297 of 2018 arising out of S.A. No. 387 of 2010 (DRT-III, Delhi) and its connected proceedings). This is in addition to the Chairperson's existing role for the Debts Recovery Appellate Tribunal, Chennai. The order is issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Financial Services.
