The Ministry of Labour and Employment, vide S.O. 688(E) dated 14th February 2024, exercising powers under sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of Section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), declares the services of Bank Note Paper Mill India Private Limited, Mysore, Karnataka (covered under item 32 of the First Schedule to the Act) to be a public utility service for the purposes of the Act for a further period of six months with effect from 19th February 2024, extending the earlier declaration made vide notification S.O. 2759(E) dated 23rd June 2023, which had declared the same public utility service status for six months with effect from 19th August 2023; the notification, filed under No. S-11017/04/2024-IR(PL), is signed by Deepika Kachhal, Joint Secretary.

S.O. 688(E).—Whereas the Central Government is satisfied that the public interest so requires that the Services in the Bank Note Paper Mill India Private Limited, Mysore, Karnataka, which is covered under item 32 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act; And whereas the Central Government has lastly declared the said industry to be public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months with effect from the 19th August, 2023, vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, number S.O. 2759(E), dated the 23rd June, 2023; And whereas the Central Government is of the opinion that public interest requires the extension of the public utility service status to the said industry for a period of six months; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), the Central Government hereby declares the services of the said industry to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months with effect from the 19th February, 2024.
