L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-14062024-254707 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 2193] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, JUNE 14, 2024/JYAISHTHA 24, 1946 MINISTRY OF FINANCE (Department of Revenue) (Central Economic Intelligence Bureau) (COFEPOSA WING) ORDER New Delhi, the 13th June, 2024 S.O. 2311(E). - Whereas the Joint Secretary to the Government of India, specially empowered under sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities Act, 1974 (52 of 1974) issued Order No. PD-12001/11/2024-COFEPOSA dated 06.03.2024 under the said sub-section directing that Mr. Md. Zubair Akhter alias Guddu, S/o Mohammad Akhter, R/o Hatiara, Ghuni, Rajarhat New Town, Metho Para Masjid K Pas, Kolkata - 700159 be detained and kept in Adarsh Kendriya Kara, Beur Jail, Patna with a view to preventing him from smuggling goods, abetting the smuggling of goods, engaging in transporting or concealing or keeping smuggled goods, harbouring persons engaged in smuggling goods or in abetting the smuggling of goods in future. 2. Whereas the Central Government has reasons to believe that the aforesaid person has absconded or has been concealing himself so that the Order cannot be executed. 3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 7 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby directs the aforesaid person to appear before the Director General of Police, Government of West Bengal, Kolkata within 7 days of the publication of this Order in the Official Gazette.
