L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-14022025-261056 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 817] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2025/MAGHA 25, 1946 MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 14th February, 2025 S.O. 821(E).-WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that public interest so requires that the services engaged in the industry of Transport (other than railways) for the carriage of passengers or goods, by land or water, which is covered under item 1 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government has declared the said industry to be public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months with effect from the 16th August, 2024 vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, number S.O. 3494(E), dated the 16th August, 2024; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government is of the opinion that public interest requires the extension of the declaration of public utility service, it may be extended for a period not exceeding six months; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), the Central Government being of the opinion that in the public interest requires extension, hereby extends the period specified in the notification number S.O.3494 (E), dated the 16th August, 2024 for a further period of six months from the 16th February, 2025 during which the services engaged in the organisation of Container Corporation of India Ltd.
