L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-14022025-261044 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 811] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2025 MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 14th February, 2025 S.O. 815(E).-WHEREAS the Central Government is satisfied that public interest so requires that the services of industries engaged in the Iron and Steel, which is covered under item 7 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act; AND WHEREAS, the Central Government has declared the said industrial undertaking to be public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months with effect from the 17th August, 2024, vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, number S.O. 3495(E), dated the 16th August, 2024; AND WHEREAS, the proviso to sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the said Act provides that if the Central Government is of the opinion that public interest requires the extension of the declaration of public utility service, it may be extended for a period not exceeding six months; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947(14 of 1947), the Central Government, being of the opinion that the public interest requires extension, hereby extends the period specified in the notification number S.O.3495(E), dated the 16th August, 2024 for a further period of six month from the 17th February, 2025 during which the services engaged in the said industries to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act.
