The Ministry of Labour and Employment, through Notification S.O. 3688(E) dated 13th August, 2025, has extended the public utility service status for the services in the Bank Note Paper Mill India Private Limited, Mysore, Karnataka. This extension is for a further period of six months, effective from 19th August, 2025. This action is taken by the Central Government in exercise of powers conferred by the proviso to sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947). The services of the mill are covered under item 32 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947. Previously, these services were declared a public utility service for six months from 19th February, 2025, via Notification S.O. 865(E) dated 18th February, 2025. L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-13082025-265408 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 3596] NEW DELHI, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 13, 2025/SHRAVANA 22, 1947 MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 13th August, 2025 S.O. 3688(E).— WHEREAS the Central Government is satisfied that the public interest so requires that the services in the Bank Note Paper Mill India Private Limited, Mysore, Karnataka, which is covered under item 32 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act; AND WHEREAS, the Central Government has declared the said industrial undertaking to be public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months with effect from the 19th February, 2025, vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, number S.O. 865(E), dated the 18th February, 2025; AND WHEREAS, the Central Government is of the opinion that public interest requires the extension of the public utility service status to the said industry for a further period of six months; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), the Central Government, hereby extends the period specified in the notification number S.O.865(E), dated the 18th February, 2025 for a further period of six months with effect from the 19th August, 2025 during which the services engaged in the said industries to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act.
