L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-13082025-265407 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 3595] NEW DELHI, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 13, 2025/SHRAVANA 22, 1947 2 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II-SEC. 3(ii)] MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 13th August, 2025 S.O. 3687(E).— WHEREAS the Central Government is satisfied that public interest so requires that the services engaged in the industry of Transport (other than railways) for the carriage of passengers or goods, by land or water, which is covered under item 1 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government has declared the said industry to be public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months with effect from the 16th February, 2025 vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, number S.O. 821(E), dated the 14th February, 2025; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government is of the opinion that public interest requires the extension of the declaration of public utility service, status to the said industry for a further period of six months; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), the Central Government being of the opinion that, the public interest requires extension, hereby extends the period specified in the notification number S.O.821(E), dated the 14th February, 2025 for a further period of six months with effect from the 16th August, 2025 during which the services engaged in the said industries to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act.
