EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 4 PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 20] NEW DELHI, THURS DAY, JULY 13, 2023/ASHADHA 22, 194 5 CG-DL-E-13072023-247296 MINISTRY OF DEFENCE NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 13th July, 202 3 S.R.O. 20(E).—In pursuance of sub -clause (ii) of clause (b) of sub -section (4) of section 4 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (“Act”) read with rule 5 of the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governa nce (Social welfare , Innovation, Knowledge) Rules, 2020, the Department of Defe nce, Ministry of Defence, has been authorised by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology vide their letter no eF. No. 13(2)/2020 -EG-II(Vol -I), dated 13/06/2023, for performance of Aadhaar authentication on a voluntary basis, for verifying the identity of the ticket buyer on the online Aamantran portal, using Yes/No or/and e - KYC authentication facility, for issuance of e -tickets for national events like Republic Da y Parade and Independence Day Celebrations. (i) The Aamantran Portal has been launched to facilitate e -invites to the dignitaries/ guests and e -tickets for the residents for National events. This digital initiative will ensure proper validation of identity through automated system and will provide an additional layer of security. (ii) Department of Defence will adhere to the guidelines laid down by the Governmen t with respect to use of Aadha ar authentication.
