The Ministry of Labour and Employment, via Notification S.O. 2419(E) dated 12th May, 2026, issued from New Delhi, has appointed the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) and the Additional Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) as authorities. This appointment is made by the Central Government in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 136 of the Code on Social Security, 2020 (36 of 2020). These officers are designated for the purpose of giving sanction for prosecution of offences related to Chapter V and Chapter VI of the said Code. This applies to all establishments where the Central Government is the appropriate Government under clause (a) of sub-section (3) of Section 2 of the Code. The notification is signed by Ashutosh A.
