No. A-50013/354/2024-E-III.— In continuation of the erstwhile Ministry of Irrigation and Power's Resolution No. FC-47(3)/72, dated the 18th April, 1972 constituting the Ganga Flood Control Commission (hereinafter referred to as the said resolution), the Central Government hereby makes the further amendments in the said resolution,- 2. In the said resolution, - (i) in paragraph 2, - (a) for clause (i), the following clause shall be substituted, namely: - "(i) Chairman, Ganga Flood Control Commission cum Member (Floods)"; (b) for clause (ii), the following clause shall be substituted, namely: - "(ii) Member (Planning), Ganga Flood Control Commission cum Chief Engineer (Flood Appraisal)"; (ii) in paragraph 5, after clause (ix), the following clauses shall be inserted, namely: - "(x) appraisal of flood management schemes including externally aided and those received from National Disaster Management Authority and Brahmaputra Board will be under domain of Chairman, Ganga Flood Control Commission cum Member (Floods) with specific technical support from specialised Directorate's of Central Water Commission wherever required; (xi) preparation of Master Plans for various river basins except North Eastern Region (currently looked after by Brahmaputra Board); (xii) carrying out the river morphological studies and sedimentation studies for better planning of flood management works: (xiii) Preparation of dashboard "Flood Management Information System" to map all flood management works, anti- erosion works (executed as well as ongoing) along with benefitted area and population across all States."; (iii) for paragraph 7, the following paragraph shall be substituted, namely: - "7. The Headquarters of the Commission will be at Patna. However, Chairman, Ganga Flood Control Commission cum Member (Floods) and Member (Planning) cum Chief Engineer (Flood Appraisal) shall be attached to the Central Water Commission, Head Quarter, New Delhi." ORDER ORDERED that a copy of the Resolution be communicated to the State Governments of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and to the Union Ministries of Finance, Railways, Agriculture, Road Transport and Highways, Niti Aayog, Prime Minister's Office, Secretary to the President of India and Comptroller and Auditor General of India for information. ORDERED also that the Resolution be published in the Gazette of India and State Governments of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh be requested to publish it in the State Gazette for general information.
