G.S.R. 700(E), dated 12th November 2024, issued by the Ministry of Finance (Department of Economic Affairs), in exercise of powers under clauses (d) and (e) of sub-section (2) of section 24 of the Coinage Act, 2011 (11 of 2011), notifies the Coinage (Issue of Commemorative Coin on the occasion of "150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji") Rules, 2024, effective from the date of publication. A commemorative coin of One Hundred Fifty Rupees denomination shall be coined, circular in shape, 44 millimeters outside diameter, with 200 serrations, composed of pure silver (silver content 99.9 per cent), with a standard weight of 40 grams and a permitted remedy of 1/8000th (39.995 to 40.005 grams). The obverse bears the Lion Capital of the Ashoka Pillar with the legend "Satyameva Jayate," "Bharat" in Devnagari script, "INDIA" in English, the Rupee symbol, and the denominational value "150"; the reverse bears the image of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji, the year 2024, and inscriptions in Devnagari and English marking the 150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji. Short title and commencement. - (1) These rules may be called the Coinage (Issue of Commemorative Coin on the occasion of "150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji”) Rules, 2024. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Denomination of coin. - The coin of One hundred fifty rupees denomination shall only be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of the Central Government to commemorate on the occasion of “150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji.” 3. Design.- The design of the coin shall be as specified in the First Schedule to these rules. 5. Standard weight and remedy allowed.- The standard weight of the coin of denomination referred in rule 2 to commemorate the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji and the remedy allowed in making of such coin shall be as specified in the Second Schedule annexed to these rules. THE FIRST SCHEDULE [See rule 4] ONE HUNDRED FIFTY RUPEES OBVERSE: This face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word "भारत" in Devnagri script and on the right periphery with the word "INDIA" in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol "*" and denominational value "150" in the international numerals below the Lion Capitol. REVERSE: This face of the coin shall bear the image of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji in the centre of the coin. The year 2024 in the international numerals shall be inscribed below the image of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji respectively. The inscription “भगवान बिरसा मुंडा जी की 150 वीं जयंती” shall be written in Devnagari script on the upper periphery of the coin and the inscription "150TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF BHAGWAN BIRSA MUNDA JI” in English shall be depicted on the lower periphery of the coin.
