The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue (Central Board of Direct Taxes), through Notification S.O. 3131(E) dated 11th July, 2025, has made a further amendment to the Government of India's notification S.O. 1673(E), dated 22nd April, 2021, which was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, section 3, sub-section (ii). This amendment is enacted under the powers conferred by sub-clause (iv) of clause (c) of Explanation 1 to clause (23FE) of section 10 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961). Specifically, in the opening paragraph of the said notification S.O. 1673(E), the figures, letters, and words '31st day of March, 2025' are substituted with '31st day of March, 2030'. The amendment applies with an exception for actions taken or omitted between 1st April, 2025, and the date of publication of this notification. The principal notification S.O. 1673(E) (Notification No. 35/2021/F.No. 370142/38/2020-TPL) was originally published on 22nd April, 2021, and subsequently amended by S.O. 1841(E) dated 10th May, 2021, and S.O. 2833(E) dated 18th July, 2024.
