NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 9th June, 2025
S.O. 2547(E). Whereas, M/s. Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited had proposed under
section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to
set up a Special Economic Zone for Information Technology and Information Technology Enabled Services
at Village Gangaikondan, Taluka Tirunelveli, District Triunelveli, in the State of Tamil Nadu;
AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1)
of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, notified an area of
40.48 hectares and subsequently, an area of 76.893 hectares and de-notify 36.4920 hectares at the above
Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notifications Number S.O. 1425(E) dated
08th June, 2009, S.O. 2838(E) dated 20th December, 2011, and S.O.4185(E) dated 8th September, 2022;
AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited has now proposed for de-
notification of 2.3997 hectares from the above Special Economic Zone;
AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has given its approval to the proposal vide
letter No. 8798753/MIB.1/2024-2 dated 5th December, 2024. Further, the said land parcel identified for partial
de-notification is to utilised towards creation of infrastructure projects;
AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, MEPZ Special Economic Zone has
recommended the proposal for de-notification of an area of 2.3997 hectares of the Special Economic Zone;
NOW, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8)
of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of
section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones
Rules, 2006, the Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 2.3997 hectares, thereby making resultant
area of the Special Economic Zone as 78.4813 hectares. The Survey numbers and the area for the de-
notification are given below in the table, namely: -
