L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-12062024-254665 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 2147] NEW DELHI, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12, 2024/JYAISHTHA 22, 1946 3495 GI/2024 (1) MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 12th June, 2024 S.O. 2249(E).—Whereas the Central Government is satisfied that public interest so requires that the services engaged in the Coal industry, which is covered under item 4 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act; And whereas the Central Government has declared the said industry to be public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months from the 28th December, 2023 vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Labour and Employment number S.O. 5463 (E), dated the 27th December, 2023; And whereas the Central Government is of the opinion that public interest requires the extension of the public utility service status to the said industry for a further period of six months; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), the Central Government hereby issues the following order as follows: - 1. Short title and Commencement. - (1) This order may be called the Public Utility Services (Tenth Order) 2024. (2) It shall come into force on the 28th day of June, 2024. 2. The Central Government hereby declares the services engaged in the Coal industry, to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a further period of six months with effect from 28th June, 2024.
