L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-12042024-253672 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 1623] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, APRIL 12, 2024/CHAITRA 23, 1946 2546 GI/2024 (1) MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 12th April, 2024 S.O. 1708(E).—Whereas the Central Government is satisfied that public interest so requires that the services engaged in the Iron Ore Mining, which is covered under item 16 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act; And whereas, the Central Government has declared the said industry to be public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months with effect from the 14th October, 2023 vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Labour and Employment number S.O. 4424 (E), dated the 11th October, 2023; And whereas, the Central Government is of the opinion that public interest requires the extension of the status of the said industry as public utility service for a further period of six months; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), the Central Government hereby issues the following order as follows: - 1. Short title and Commencement. - (1) This order may be called the Public Utility Services (First Order) 2024. (2) It shall come into force on the 14th day of April, 2024. 2. The Central Government hereby declares the services engaged in the Iron Ore Mining to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a further period of six months with effect from 14th April, 2024.
