The Election Commission of India, via O.N. 101(E) dated 12 April 2024, exercising powers under Sections 30 and 56 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), and pursuant to the President's notification under Section 14(2) of the same Act calling upon parliamentary constituencies to elect members to the House of the People, fixed the election schedule for Phase III of the 2024 general election: 19 April 2024 as the last date for nominations, 20 April 2024 for scrutiny of nominations, 22 April 2024 as the last date for withdrawal of candidature, 7 May 2024 as the polling date for the listed constituencies, and 6 June 2024 as the date by which the election must be completed. The notification's Schedule fixes polling hours, generally 7:00 AM to 5:00 or 6:00 PM with some constituencies closing at 4:00 PM, for parliamentary and corresponding assembly constituencies across states including Assam (Kokrajhar, Dhubri, Barpeta, Guwahati), Bihar (Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Araria, Madhepura, Khagaria and related assembly segments), Chhattisgarh (Surguja, Raigarh, Janjgir-Champa, Korba, Bilaspur, Durg, Raipur), Goa (North Goa, South Goa), Gujarat (26 constituencies from Kachchh to Valsad), Karnataka (14 constituencies from Chikkodi to Shimoga), and Madhya Pradesh (constituencies including Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Guna, Sagar, Vidisha, Bhopal).

L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-12042024-253645 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (iii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 92] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, APRIL 12, 2024/CHAITRA 23, 1946 ELECTION COMMISSION OF INDIA NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 12th April, 2024 O.N. 101(E).—WHEREAS, the President of India has, by notification issued under sub-section (2) of Section 14 of the Representation of People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951) and published in the Gazette of India on the 12th April, 2024 (Friday), been pleased to call upon each of the parliamentary constituencies, specified in column (2) of the Schedule below, in the States or Union Territories mentioned in column (1), of the Schedule to elect members to the House of the People, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the rules and orders made thereunder; 2. Now, therefore, in pursuance of Sections 30 and 56 of the said Act, the Election Commission of India hereby- (A) Appoints, with respect to the said election, from each of the parliamentary constituencies specified in the said Schedule, (a) the 19th April, 2024 (Friday), as the last date for making nominations; (b) the 20th April, 2024 (Saturday), as the date for scrutiny of nominations; (c) the 22nd April, 2024 (Monday), as the last date for withdrawal of candidatures; (d) the date specified in column (3) of the SCHEDULE below, as the date on which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken in the parliamentary constituencies, specified in the corresponding entry in column (2) of the said Schedule; and (e) the 06th June, 2024 (Thursday), as the date before which the election shall be completed in all the above mentioned parliamentary constituencies; and (B) Fixes the hours specified in column (4) of the said Schedule, as the hours during which the poll shall, if necessary, be taken in the constituencies, specified in the corresponding entry in column (2) of the said Schedule, on the date specified against such constituency in column (3) thereof, for the above election.
