The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Department of Commerce, Directorate General of Foreign Trade) issued Public Notice No. 16/2024-25 dated 6th June 2024 (S.O. 2213(E)), exercising powers under Section 3 read with Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992) and Para 1.02 and 2.03 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, amending para 2.30(A)(i)(g) of FTP 2023 (as notified via Notification No. 71/2023 dated 11.03.2024) with immediate effect. The amendment extends the 180-day Export Obligation period restriction, previously applicable only to inputs imported by Advance Authorisation holders, EOUs and SEZs that are exempt from mandatory Quality Control Orders (QCOs) for textile products, to also cover chemical products, as notified by the Ministry of Textiles and the Department of Chemicals & Petro-chemicals (DCPC), which has also been notified in Appendix 2Y of FTP 2023. The notice was issued with the approval of the Minister of Commerce & Industry and signed by Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Director General of Foreign Trade & Ex-officio Additional Secretary (F.
