S.O. 150(E) dated 11 January 2024, Lok Sabha Secretariat notification, in continuation of Notification No. 21/4(6)/2023/TO(B) dated 1 May 2023, records that the Supreme Court of India, by order dated 14 December 2023 in Criminal Appeal No. 3838 of 2023 (arising out of Special Leave to Appeal (Crl.) No. 11129 of 2023), suspended the conviction of Shri Afzal Ansari, Member of Lok Sabha representing the Ghazipur Parliamentary Constituency of Uttar Pradesh, subject to conditions stipulated by the Court. The conviction had been ordered by judgment dated 29 April 2023 of the Additional Sessions Judge, MP/MLA Court, Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, in Special Trial/980/2012. In view of the Supreme Court's order, the disqualification of Shri Afzal Ansari notified vide Gazette Notification No. 21/4(6)/2023/TO(B) dated 1 May 2023, in terms of Article 102(1)(e) of the Constitution of India read with Section 8 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, has ceased to operate, subject to the conditions imposed by the Supreme Court and further judicial pronouncements. No. 11129 of 2023}, suspending the conviction of Shri Afzal Ansari, Member of Lok Sabha representing the Ghazipur Parliamentary Constituency of Uttar Pradesh subject to certain conditions stipulated therein, which was ordered by the Judgment dated 29.04.2023 of the Additional Sessions Judge, MP/MLA Court, Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh in Special Trial/980/2012. 2.
