NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 1st September, 2026
S.O. 4888(E).—Whereas, M/s. Infosys Limited, had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic
Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up an Information Technology and
Information Technology Enabled Services Special Economic Zone at Plot No. 138, Old Mahabalipuram Road,
Sholinganallur, Kancheepuram District, Tamil Nadu;
AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section
4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, had notified an area of 5.37 hectares at
the above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number S.O. 277(E) dated
16st January, 2020;
AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Infosys Limited has now proposed for de-notification of 0.0792 hectares from the
above Special Economic Zone;
AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has given its approval to the proposal vide letter
No.13535798/MIB.1/2026-2 dated 17th June, 2026;
AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, Madras Special Economic Zone has recommended the
proposal for de-notification of an area of 0.0792 hectares of the above the Special Economic Zone;
AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of
section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the
Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the Central
Government hereby de-notifies an area of 0.0792 hectares of the above Special Economic Zone, thereby making the
total area of the Special Economic Zone as 5.2908 hectares. The survey numbers and area for the de-notification are
given below in the table, namely: -
