                Detailed Summary
            

            
The Ministry of Labour and Employment, through Notification S.O. 2353(E) issued on May 8, 2026, has authorized various Deputy Directors and Assistant Directors of the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Regional and Sub Regional Offices to function as Recovery Officers. This authorization is granted by the Central Government under clause (68) of section 2 read with section 129 of the Code on Social Security, 2020 (36 of 2020). These officers are empowered to exercise the powers of a Recovery Officer from the notification's publication date, applicable to all establishments covered under Chapter IV of the Code and related provisions. New Delhi, the 8th May, 2026
S.O. 2353(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred under clause (68) of section 2 read with section 129 of
the Code on Social Security, 2020 (36 of 2020), the Central Government hereby authorises the Officers mentioned in
column (2) of the Table below to exercise the powers of Recovery Officer under the said Code from the date of
publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, for the areas mentioned in column (3) of the said Table, in relation
to all establishments covered under the provisions of the Chapter IV of the said Code and for the provisions in the Code
relating to that Chapter, namely:-
