The Ministry of Labour and Employment, through Notification S.O. 2362(E) dated 8th May, 2026, has authorized the Director General, Insurance Commissioner, Additional Commissioner, Regional Director Grade 'A'/Director, Regional Director Grade 'B'/Joint Director of the Employees' State Insurance Corporation to exercise the powers of a compounding officer. This authorization is granted by the Central Government under sub-section (1) of section 138 of the Code on Social Security, 2020 (36 of 2020), read with sub-rule (1) of rule 54 of the Social Security (Central) Rules, 2026. These powers become effective from the date of publication of this notification in the official gazette and apply to all establishments covered under Chapter IV of the said Code.
