Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, through Notification S.O. 2056(E) dated 7th May, 2025, has superseded its previous Notifications No. 2(1)/2017-Pers.I (Pt.) dated 11th October 2023 (published vide S.O. 4491(E) on 12th October 2023) and No. 2(1)/2017-Pers.I (Pt.) dated 26th December 2023 (published vide S.O. 253(E) on 18th January 2024). In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000 (21 of 2000) read with rule 3 of the Information Technology (Procedure and Safeguards for Blocking for Access of Information by Public) Rules, 2009, the Central Government has authorized and designated Shri Amitesh Kumar Sinha, IRAS(1997), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, Electronics Niketan, 6 Central Government Offices Complex, New Delhi - 110003, as the Designated Officer for the purpose of the said rules. Furthermore, Shri Sushil Pal, ICAS(1999), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, Electronics Niketan, 6 Central Government Offices Complex, New Delhi - 110003, has been designated as the Designated Officer for the purpose of the said rules during the absence on account of leave, tour, etc., of Shri Amitesh Kumar Sinha.
