Saltire Developers Private Limited had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a Special Economic Zone for Information Technology and Information Technology Enabled Services at Outer Ring Road, Rachenahalli Village, Nagavara, District Bengaluru, in the State of Karnataka; And, whereas, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, notified an area of 4.05 hectares at the above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number S.O. 2137(E) dated 13th June, 2016; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Saltire Developers Private Limited has now proposed to de-notify the entire area of 4.05 hectares of the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Karnataka has given No Objection Certificate to the proposal vide letter No. CI 127 SPI 2023 dated 13th November, 2023. Further, de-notified land will be utilized towards creation of IT infrastructure (Non-SEZ); AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, Cochin Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of entire area of 4.05 hectares of the Special Economic Zone; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by first proviso to rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
