The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, through Notification S.O. 3601(E) dated 5th August, 2025, published on August 6, 2025, declares the computer resources relating to the Core Banking Solution (CBS) and Unified Payments Interface (UPI) Switch, identified as Critical Information Infrastructure of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank Limited, and their associated dependencies, to be protected systems. This declaration is made by the Central Government in exercise of powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 70 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 (21 of 2000). The notification further authorizes the Jammu and Kashmir Bank Limited to specify, by order in writing, persons authorized to access these protected systems. Authorized persons include any designated employee of the bank, any team member of contractual managed service providers or third-party vendors for need-based access, and any consultant, regulator, Government official, auditor, or stakeholder on a case-to-case basis.
