The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, through Notification S.O. 3604(E) dated August 5, 2025, declares specific computer resources as protected systems. In exercise of powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 70 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 (21 of 2000), the Central Government designates the computer resources relating to the Core Banking Solution (CBS) and Unified Payments Interface (UPI) Switch, identified as Critical Information Infrastructure of Bandhan Bank, along with their associated dependencies, to be protected systems for the purposes of the said Act. The notification further authorizes Bandhan Bank to specify, by order in writing, the persons permitted to access these protected systems. These authorized persons include any designated employee of Bandhan Bank, any team member of contractual managed service providers or third-party vendors for need-based access, and any consultant, regulator, Government official, auditor or stakeholder on a case-to-case basis. This notification, issued under F. No. AA-14/2/2025-CSD and signed by Savita Utreja, Scientist G, shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette, which is August 6, 2025.
